A passage from Franz Kafka’s novel is narrated in its original German as well as English using a text-to-speech voice synthesis program. The resulting audio plays through 150 antique loudspeakers, all based on a design by Guglielmo Marconi (1926). Coincidentally, the first edition of Kafka’s book was published that same year to nearly no recognition.
