Drawing; acid and cigarette heat on paper
50 x 38 cm

“The Acid & Nicotine pen drawings are made with car battery acid and processed with the heat from my cigarette as I draw. They are the product of my various recent attempts to recover the academic drawing skills that I learned at a Czech art school years ago – or to see how much I have unlearned or forgotten, or what I can do with what is left. They are drawn from photographs and the subjects are various cultural icons of my time. In this instance, Michael McClure, Bob Dylan, and Allen Ginsberg.”
